Fusion

While the effect of fusing two cards into one is better known, magicians have been fusing other objects for even longer. Dan Danielien proposed fusing two coins by slowly sliding a shell over a coin, publishing it in The Sphinx, Vol. 43 No. 9, Nov. 1944, p. 224. In the same description, Danielien also mentions using the same method and handling with billiard balls.
