Rub-Away Coin Vanish

This now well-known method of vanishing a coin while rubbing it in circles on the tabletop appears to be the invention of G. W. Hunter. It was published in The Magazine of Magic, Vol. 7 No. 4, Mar. 1920, p. 82, as “The Whirligig Vanish for a Coin”. While the sleight does not have Hunter's byline, this vanish appears directly after another entry that is identified as his, while the item following the coin vanish carries another author's name.
